Colors & Palettes
Pick colors, load Adobe .aco palettes, and manage your swatch collections.
Chuzy provides two ways to select colors: the quick swatch bar in the toolbar, and the full Palette Panel for custom colour collections.
Toolbar Color Swatches
The toolbar includes a 16-color swatch bar with common colours:
Black #333 #666 #999 #CCC White
Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Purple
Brown Pink Teal OrangeRed
Click any swatch to set it as the active drawing color. The active color gets a red border highlight.
Palette Panel
The Palette Panel sits at the bottom of the right sidebar. It supports loading Adobe Color Swatch (.aco) files for professional colour workflows.
Loading an ACO File
- Click the LOAD ACO button in the panel header.
- Select a
.acofile from your computer. - The palette is parsed and added to the panel. It expands automatically.
Palettes are persisted in your browser’s localStorage, so they survive page reloads.
Palette Features
- Expand/Collapse: Click the palette name to toggle the swatch grid and colour list.
- Swatch Grid: A compact grid of colour squares for quick visual scanning.
- Color List: Shows colour name, hex value, and RGB for the first 20 swatches.
- Copy Hex: Click any swatch or list item to copy its hex value to your clipboard.
- Remove Palette: Click the trash icon to remove a palette from your collection.
ACO File Support
Chuzy’s ACO parser supports:
- RGB colour space swatches
- LAB colour space swatches (converted to RGB)
- CMYK colour space swatches (approximated to RGB)
- Both version 1 and version 2 ACO formats
- Swatch names (when present in v2 format)
Tip
Create palettes in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, export as .aco, and load them directly into Chuzy for consistent colour across your design tools.
